How to Fix a Run DLL Error at Startup

By

Why Do You Get a Run DLL Error at Startup?

In some cases, a Run DLL Error at Startup occurs because a virus, worm or Trojan has been eliminated from your computer system by your antivirus program. However, some changes were made to your computer registry system by the virus program to enable it load once you start your computer.

For example, you may get a message like this:

Message: error loading C/windows/wftadfi16_080913a.dll

In this case, the file wftadfi16_080913a.dll was actually attached to the startup process by a malware program to enable it work on the system. When the computer boots, the system tries to load the virus program associated with this file, but because the file has already been deleted an error message will appear to alert you.

Pleas note that not all Dll errors are connected to malware activities. Read more about DLL files here.

Software Solution

Reasons you may want to consider using a repair software application are:

  • You are clueless about computers.
  • The solution above did not work.
  • Removing the registry entry does not guarantee that all viruses and Trojan has been removed.
  • Other sections of the OS system may have been corrupted by viruses.
  • There may be hidden issues that need to be resolved.

A very good online repair software application that can scan the whole system and solve all Windows operating system related issues is Reimage. This application is a one-stop, do-all because it can also remove viruses and optimize the Windows registry.

Concluding Notes

Computers are machines and they will always have one problem or the other. However, to reduce risk and frequency, do your PC housekeeping routinely by updating the operating system and drivers, optimizing the system registry, and performing general system scan and optimization with Windows utility tools or a PC Tune-Up Software application.

Finally, always backup your system, keep the firewall on and install a security software program that can protect your computer 24/7.
